Enviro Labs Limited (ELL) is a HOKLAS accredited laboratory which specializes in wastewater/sewage testing. We conduct analysis for a wide range of samples such as industrial wastewater, effluent, grease trap discharge, construction’s wastewater, domestic sewage, etc. Most of our tests comply with international recognized methods such as APHA Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, that is the most widely accepted methods for wastewater testing.
Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) are the most common parameters in environmental testing. BOD is used to measure the amount of organic pollutants in water that can be oxidized biologically, while COD can reflect the quantity of chemical (potassium dichromate, K2Cr2O7) oxidizable organic matters. Values of COD is usually larger than BOD as potassium dichromate is stronger oxidizing agent than biological process.
Oil & grease (O&G) is another popular test in environmental testing. As implied by the name, O&G results reflect the quantity of oil and grease present in wastewater. Enviro Labs Ltd. (ELL) uses APHA 5520B standard method to measure O&G, which defined O&G as n-hexane extractable material. As food industries always use large amount of oil food processing, O&G is a compulsory parameter to monitor the effluent from restaurants, canteens, fast food shops, and other food processing companies.
