Enterococci

Enterococci are commonly found in the intestines of humans, and are used as an indicator of faecal pollution and gastrointestinal pathogens in water being tested. Swimming in recreational fresh or marine water with a large amount of Enterococci is known to be directly related to the risk of gastrointestinal illness.

Enviro Labs Ltd. (ELL) holds HOKLAS accreditation for Enterococci test using USEPA 1600 method. This method is adopted by the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department (EPD) to monitor the marine and beach water quality. Our laboratory could issue HOKLAS endorsed report for the test, which is recognized internationally via Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Laboratory Accreditation.
