Swimming and spa pools have often been cited as causes of water borne disease. In order to safeguard the health of the users, the water quality of swimming or spa pools should be checked regularly.

Hot Spa Pool
Hot spa pool, also known as hot Jacuzzi or hot spring, is a self-regulated body of warm water designed for sitting in. The temperature of water is usually maintained at 30 – 40 °C, which provide a suitable environment for the growth of hazardous bacteria such as Legionella pneumophila. Users may get Legionnaires’ disease if the pools contain Legionella pneumophila. Older adults, smokers and people with weakened immune systems are particularly susceptible to Legionnaires’ disease. As Legionnaires’ disease is fatal, water of hot spa pools should be checked regularly to ensure the absence of Legionella.
